Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Emoort (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Emoort.

2. Description of Service

Emoort is an online platform that connects students with mentors for paid, one-on-one guidance sessions conducted via Google Meet. Emoort facilitates the discovery, booking, and payment process but is not a party to the mentorship relationship itself.

3. User Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You must provide accurate, complete information during registration. Providing false information may result in account suspension.
  • One person may not maintain multiple accounts.

4. Mentor Responsibilities

  • Mentors must provide accurate qualifications and expertise information on their profiles.
  • Mentors must honour confirmed bookings. Repeated no-shows may result in account suspension.
  • Mentors must provide a valid Google Meet link within a reasonable time after accepting a booking.
  • Mentors may not solicit payment outside the platform.
  • Mentors are independent service providers — they are not employees or contractors of Emoort.

5. Student Responsibilities

  • Students must pay in full via Razorpay before a booking is confirmed.
  • Students must attend booked sessions. Emoort does not issue refunds for student no-shows.
  • Students must treat mentors with respect. Abusive behaviour is grounds for account termination.

6. Payments & Fees

All payments are processed securely via Razorpay. Session fees are set by individual mentors. Emoort may charge a platform fee, which will be disclosed at checkout. By completing a payment, you agree to Razorpay's terms of service in addition to these terms.

7. Refund Policy

  • Mentor declines: If a mentor declines a paid booking, a full refund is automatically initiated to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.
  • Student cancellation: No refunds are issued for student-initiated cancellations once a booking is confirmed.
  • Technical failures: If a session cannot proceed due to a verified platform error, contact support within 24 hours for a refund review.
  • Refunds are processed by Razorpay and subject to their processing timelines.

8. Reviews & Ratings

Students may submit one review per completed session. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. Emoort reserves the right to remove reviews that violate community standards or are found to be fraudulent.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Attempt to bypass the Platform to arrange or pay for sessions directly.
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt the service.
  • Share offensive, discriminatory, or harmful content.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform (design, code, text, graphics) is owned by or licensed to Emoort. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute it without written permission.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Emoort does not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or outcomes of any mentorship session. Mentors are independent professionals and Emoort is not liable for their advice or actions.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Emoort's total liability for any claim arising from use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 30 days prior to the claim.

13. Termination

Emoort reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, at its sole discretion, with or without notice.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
